April Craziness and Reagan's Hungry...What!?!

So far April has been absolutely crazy for our family. It started out celebrating Grandpa Astle's 80th birthday. The party was so much fun, and it was so good to see all of Trever's cousins, aunts and uncles. They each shared a memory they have of grandpa. It was entertaining to here all the fun stories they had with him. He looked very handsome too, all dressed up in a suit and tie. We also celebrated Easter that weekend. It was so much fun seeing all the kids searching down the hallways of the church looking for eggs. After the party all the men attended the priesthood conference session. I loved the sight of all these men dressed up and ready to go. They were all so handsome. I wish I had a picture to share of the generations of men going to priesthood together.
Easter morning came along with some happy girls. Reagan and Kadence both got the Princess and the Frog movie, the princess Tatiana, froggy bubble bath and treats. Morgan got a stuffed frog and some empty plastic eggs. She was pretty excited about both. That afternoon we got some troubling news. Grandpa Reid was taken from this earth and returned to our Heavenly Father. Earlier that week he had surgery and was still in the hospital because of it. We went to visit him while we were in Logan. He was pretty adimit about seeing everyone who had come up. Kadence took him for a walk around the floor on Friday, and Reagan took him for one on Saturday night. The walk was short lived for her, but it was so sweet watching her hold his hand as they started off on a walk. It still makes me cry. She also gave him her balloon that she got from Grandpa Astle's party. She said she knew it would make him feel better. I hope I never forget that. When Kadence heard that Grandpa was still sick she gave up a duck to help him feel better. There's nothing more humbling than seeing the pure love of Christ through God's children.
That night Reagan seemed to come down with the stomach flu. A couple days later I took her in to Instacare and they confirmed it as a virus. We left it at that and headed back to Logan for the viewing and funeral. She didn't stop throwing up. Two more days had past and she wasn't getting better. I called Instacare and told them and the nurse advised me to take her to the Emergency Room in case of dehydration. When we got there it was pretty busy so we went to the Instacare by the hospital, thinking they would tell us if she was dehydrated enough to go to the ER. Turns out they still say its the stomach bug. The next day she is still trowing up and not eating a thing. Then we realize that she hadn't used the bathroom in more than 24 hours. This time we go to the ER. They watch her, and of course nothing happens while we were there, but we insisted to do other tests on her to make sure nothing else was wrong. The ran some blood tests and did an ultrasound of her belly. The results...still the stomach flu. She threw up the moment we got home from the ER and continued throwing up through out the weekend. I was certain something else was wrong. The stomach bug doesn't last that long, and no one else was sick. All the people we were around including her baby sister were perfectly healthy. We followed up with our family doc on Monday. His diagnosis, you guessed it, the stomach flu. The next day she was feeling better and stopped puking. Who knew that the stomach flu could last 2 weeks. The doctors visits don't end there. That evening Reagan stuck a pen cap in her ear. She was screaming, so we went to Instacare again. That's right folks, Reagan was seen by 5 different doctors within a week. She cried all the way to Instacare saying that she was tired of going to the doctor. Can't say I blame her. She just traumatized her ear lobe pretty bad, her hearing should be unaffected. We have to watch her for a while. The day after that Morgan came down with the stomach flu. I thought I was going to explode. Luckily hers only lasted 24 hours, thank heavens.
Now that Reagan is done with that mess, she has all the sudden decided that she's hungry. I have never seen her eat this much before. I make her a sandwich and she eats it all and asks for more. I'm not shoving it down her throat. She tells me about every 2-3 hours that she is hungry. In the last week we've gone through a bag and a half of cereal (the big Maltomeal bags) and 2 packages of turkey sandwich meat. The list doesn't stop there. Its completely insane. I'm not complaining though, she needs to gain back the 2 pounds she lost while she was sick. Hopefully she'll gain it back faster than it took her to gain it the first time.
Whew! Now we're on to the rest of the birthdays this month. Bring it on!

Two weeks of the stomach flu! Cannot believe it. Me and Danny had it but ya it only lasted 24 hours. Luckily Memphis didn't get it. He got croup instead! I am glad she is eating again. The pictures of your girls in their black and white dresses are so cute:) And I love the quote at the top of your blog!

Hey Megan! I haven't been that great either! I'm sorry to hear about that horrible sickness! Poor things! I hate when my kids are sick! Hopefully they've been o-k ever since.

We got those pictures taken at a park up Provo canyon. The one on the right side. I think it's vivian park but I'm not sure. My friend took them. I think she did a great job!
