It takes more a bit more effort for me to get out than others. As you may know my mom is wheelchair bound. She can get along fine most of the time, but she does have difficulty getting in and out of the car, pushing a cart and other tasks like that. When it is time to go I usually send mom out first (give her a head start) while I buckle up Morgan in her car seat. I meet my mom at the van, put the baby in, help my mom in, put the wheelchair and stroller in the back, then chase down Reagan and get her buckled. Thoughts running through my head constantly making sure we have everything we need for our trip. At this point I drive over to my sisters place to pick her, her baby, and her stroller up along the way. (Good thing mom has a van...Whew!) I'm not complaining, its really not bad, just that much more to worry about.
Ok, so we're on our way...when we arrive we pull the whole routine again. Get the wheelchair and the stroller out. Send mom on her way in, put the baby in the stroller and chase down Reagan from wherever she ran off to while we were getting unloaded. Then we meet up with mom inside the store. Keep in mind that 88 cent Tuesday is so popular that they run out of carts. It probably would be helpful to have more than five. That is why the strollers are so vital to our excursion, they double as a cart. Mom can't carry her own items and drive her chair at the same time so the stroller usually gets pretty loaded down with all our treasures. This day was no different. The underneath storage was full, things were stacked on top, we were even putting things all around Morgan. Poor baby she barely had enough room to breathe.
Reagan found some toys to play with while we are shopping. She usually stays in the same isle and stays out of trouble so we can wander away and come back to check on her. I walked by her and she was putting things in a bowl. She told me see was making dinner. I had a little giggle and went on. Well about 30 seconds later my sister came around the isle she was on holding the bowl and little Reagan was screaming. She came over to me and asked if I knew what Reagan was doing. During that 30 seconds Reagan had found some bubble bath and poured it all over the stuff that was in the bowl. I asked Reagan why she had done it and that now she was in trouble. Reagan is a bit emotional. When she gets upset she runs away and screams in a high pitched squeal while she does it. This time was no different. I just let her go so I could salvage anything I could, but it was too late. Like that's not embarrassing enough, oh about 10 seconds later they call on the PA system "Attention customers. We have an Amber Alert. We have a little girl here wearing a blue shirt and white shorts up here that is lost. If she is yours come pick her up at customer service." Are you kidding??? She wasn't lost I could hear her the whole time! And they called it an Amber Alert! Seriously. She is trowing a tantrum, not being stolen. We left shortly after this. I ended up spending $10 on all the things Reagan had ruined. When Trever got home from school I told him what happened. He got a good chuckle and just said at least she picked a cute bowl.
I guess it is pretty cute. It wasn't fun for me at the time, but it is something to laugh at now. So here is our cute bowl that cost me $10 on 88 cent Tuesday.
